What happens to what you send me

The form asks for your name, your email address, an optional topic, and your message. All four are sent to a server function on this site, which checks them and then sends them on as an email to my personal inbox. Your email address is set as the reply-to address so I can answer you.

Your message therefore passes through, and is stored by, the email service that delivers it and the mailbox that receives it. I cannot promise that messages are never stored — they are stored, in that inbox, in the same way any email you send me would be. I keep them for as long as the conversation is useful and delete them when it is not.

I use what you send only to reply to you. I do not add you to a mailing list, sell your details, or share them with anyone else, and there is no automatic reply sent to addresses typed into the form.

There is no analytics on this site. No tracking scripts, no advertising pixels, no cookies set by me. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps its own operational logs of requests to the site — things like IP address, time, and the page requested — under its own privacy terms, as any web host does. That is outside my control.

To limit automated abuse of the contact form, the server may keep a short-lived count of recent submissions per IP address. That count holds no message content and expires on its own.

The contact form is the only way to reach me through this site. I do not publish an email address here, which keeps it away from the scrapers that harvest addresses off web pages.

If you want me to delete something you have already sent, send a second message through the contact form asking me to, and I will.
